Liverpool reportedly could cause West Ham a big problem by signing truly incredible 24-year-old

West Ham United could be set to be dealt a really big blow by Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Julen Lopetegui has already strengthened his West Ham squad beyond all recognition, whilst Liverpool boss Arne Slot is attempting to do the same at Anfield.

So if Lopetegui does manage to move on some of the deadwood before the transfer window slams shut, he will then be able to mount another assault on the transfer market.

More defensive reinforcements are definitely required in my opinion, especially if Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd end up leaving.

A clear and obvious target is out there waiting for us, but Liverpool could be about to scupper our hopes of bringing him to the London Stadium.

Liverpool could hurt West Ham by signing Mohamed Simakan
The RB Leipzig centre-back is a man in demand this summer it seems.

The centre-back joined RB Leipzig for around €15 million (£13 million) in 2021 (Goal), and now the Guardian claim that the Bundesliga side could sell him for £35 million.

In 32 Bundesliga appearances last season, the Frenchman averaged 1.5 tackles, 2.1 clearances and 1.9 successful aerial duels per game. He made 46.5 passes per game on average and recorded a completion rate of 86.3% (Who Scored).

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, he’s very strong in the air due to his incredible leap and he’s very quick along the ground as well.

The 24-year-old is an incredibly well-rounded defender. Football.London recently described him as the ‘perfect’ player, and they’re absolutely right – The Leipzig ace has everything needed to succeed in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, he drew praise from TEAMtalk who labelled him as ‘rapid’.

The Frenchman is a tenacious tackler and reads the game superbly well. His ability to play at centre-back and right-back makes his £35 million asking price seem like really good value.

He’d be the ideal competition and cover for our two centre-backs and Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.

Mohamed Simakan would actually be absolutely perfect for West Ham but unfortunately for us, it seems like Liverpool could be primed to swoop in for him before the summer transfer window slams shut.
