'On private flight now': Fabrizio Romano has just shared twist in Conor Gallagher transfer saga

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have both been linked with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in recent months.

Both the Lilywhites and the Gunners have been linked with additional recruits in the middle of the park this summer.

Meanwhile, Gallagher has been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and is expected to secure a move away before deadline day.

For a while, it looked like Gallagher’s next move had been decided, with a switch to Atletico Madrid seemingly all wrapped up.

However, this transfer saga is now experiencing a twist, and Fabrizio Romano has the latest on the situation.
Arsenal and Tottenham target Conor Gallagher flying back to Chelsea
Gallagher’s £36million move to Atletico Madrid was agreed last Thursday, but now it is at risk of falling through, according to Sky Sports News.

This is after the deal for striker Samu Omorodion to leave the Liga side for Chelsea collapsed.

Romano has now reported that Gallagher is on his way back to London on a private flight while talks over Joao Felix continue.

“Story remains open,” concluded the transfer insider.

Tottenham and Arsenal likely to be keeping tabs on Gallagher situation
Tottenham and Arsenal will no doubt be monitoring proceedings closely in case Gallagher’s move to Atletico collapses.

According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are currently in talks over a deal for Joao Felix, which would revive the Gallagher to Atletico.

However, Felix’s valuation is said to be £50million, substantially higher than the £34.5million agreed for Omorodion.

The report claims that a move to Atletico “remains possible” as things stand.

However, they need further cash to complete the deal, with UEFA and La Liga financial regulations an ongoing issue to manage for the Spanish side.

Should the move to Atletico collapse, Tottenham and Arsenal may well look to rekindle their interest in the England international.
