'Outstanding' Arsenal ace 'closing in' o exit after transfer exit has been agreed

Genoa are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign an Arsenal academy player according to reports from Italy.

Arsenal have been busy in the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta’s side look to win their first Premier League title since the invincible season of 2003/04 under Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners confirmed the signing of Riccardo Calafiori last month whilst the Gunners are also keen on signing a new midfielder.

Arteta also wants Mikel Merino in the building by this weekend with the Gunners boss keen on the former Newcastle United midfielder and he wants the Spanish ace in place for Arsenal’s opening game of the Premier League season.

Sales are also set to be key for Arsenal this summer.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy ‘closing in’ on Genoa move
According to reports in Italy, Genoa are closing in on the signing of Arsenal right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy with the Gunners ace set to be the Italian club’s ‘surprise signing’.

The Serie A side have made progress in securing the 20-year-old’s services this summer, according to multiple claims from Italy.

Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Genoa have agreed a deal with Arsenal to sign the defender for £1.7 million plus a further £1.7 million in add-ons. The Gunners will be entitled to receive a percentage of a future sale.


The 20-year-old has already travelled to Italy to complete the formalities of the deal and complete his medical before signing the contract.

TuttoMercatoWeb claims the Englishman is in Italy with the signing of the Arsenal ace considered the ‘surprise’ deal of the window.

The 20-year-old came through Arsenal’s academy but it appears his time in North London is coming to an end.

Norton-Cuffy can play at right-back but the Englishman has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Gunners.

He has spent time on loan at Rotherham United, Lincoln City, Coventry City and Millwall but his time in England is coming to an end.

Norton-Cuffy has been hailed as an ‘outstanding’ youngster and his move to Serie A will give him a chance to show his skills in a new league.
