'Pleased': Edu Gaspar left delighted after 'very positive' transfer development at Arsenal

Arsenal are now set for a battle against the clock when it comes to any final arrivals in north London.

Mikel Arteta has been handed two new signings this summer with Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino added to his options.

There has already been some movement in north London this morning with Neto undergoing his medical ahead of a proposed loan move to Arsenal.

There is also expected to be movement in the other direction with Arsenal expected to lose Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace.

With a transfer development having already emerged out of the Emirates, Edu Gaspar has shared his thoughts on the matter.

Edu Gaspar reacts to Arsenal transfer development
There is the possibility for an attacking player to be signed today with Arsenal monitoring the availability of Raheem Sterling.

However, there has already been one departure with Aaron Ramsdale leaving Arsenal for Southampton earlier today.

It was an exit which a lot of people will have seen coming given his lack of minutes following the arrival of David Raya.

Speaking to the Arsenal website about the departure of the England international, Edu has admitted he is delighted with the deal for Ramsdale.

“We are pleased to have reached a very positive transfer completion with Southampton and Aaron leaves us with our best wishes,” he said.

“We thank Aaron for his performances for the club since joining us three years ago, and we wish him and his family well in their new chapter.”

Arsenal need to sign more than just another goalkeeper
There is scope for further business to be done in north London today with the clock now ticking down on the Gunners.

But a new forward has to be top of the agenda once they bring in Neto as their new backup goalkeeper.

It is likely going to be a case of reacting to the opportunities which present themselves at this stage in the window.

However, with Arsenal having been offered the likes of Kingsley Coman, there are some quality opportunities they could look into.
