'Re-open talks': Sky Sports journalist says club will now make a new bid for £50m Arsenal player

Arsenal are busy bringing in new players at the moment but they could now end up back in talks to sell one of last season’s fringe players.

The Gunners have already landed a deal to bring Riccardo Calafiori in and are now pushing on with their bid to sign Spanish midfielder, Mikel Merino.

It was well reported before the summer that Arsenal would seek to sell a few players to bring funds in and appease potential PSR problems.

And now, they could get more income, with Marseille apparently preparing a brand new bid for their striker, Eddie Nketiah.

Marseille ready to make third bid for Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah
Nketiah to Marseille has been on and off for the last few weeks, with the French club looking at overhauling their squad.

And according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, a new bid from Marseille is now expected at Arsenal.

“Marseille expected to re-open talks with Arsenal over signing of Eddie Nketiah. Gap in valuation exists but a feeling it’s not insurmountable. Nketiah open to the move & personal terms not expected to be a problem. Marseille have had two bids rejected,” Sheth wrote on his X account.

Nketiah should be forcing a move
Eddie Nketiah – who Arsenal valued at a whopping £50m at one point this summer – is very much at the point where he needs to leave Arsenal for his own good now.

He’s tried for a number of years to have a big impact but ultimately he remains a squad player at best and the time has come to move.

There has been suggestions of Everton being keen on Nketiah as well but a move abroad at this stage could well benefit him massively.

A fresh start, in a new league, where he’s likely to get more time and space and ultimately, more goals, could well be the making of Nketiah.
