Report: After Eddie Nketiah, Crystal Palace have now made contact to sign £20m Arsenal player…

Crystal Palace are expected to be busy as we enter the final days of the summer transfer window.

Sunday’s 2-1 defeat against Brentford proved that Oliver Glasner could still do with a new face or two, as Michael Olise’s magic was sorely missed.

A number of promising attacks were squandered through poor decision making, although in fairness, we were well and truly robbed by Sam Barrott spoiling Eberechi Eze’s Goal of the Season contender.

In the meantime – however – contact has now been made to sign a defender from Arsenal amid doubts over the future of Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace…

Crystal Palace make contact with Arsenal over Jakub Kiwior
A story from TEAMtalk now states that Crystal Palace have asked Arsenal about Jakub Kiwior.

The Poland international – who Arsenal signed in a £20m deal from Spezia back in January 2023 – is now up for sale after Mikel Arteta decided to buy Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna.

TEAMtalk add that Juventus are also speaking to the Gunners about Kiwior, who could be loaned out by Arsenal if no side makes a suitable offer for the Pole.

It comes after Sky Sports revealed that Crystal Palace also made contact with Arsenal to ask about Eddie Nketiah – after the England international decided he needs to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Maxence Lacroix more likely to join Oliver Glasner’s side
Kiwior is seemingly being lined up as a potential backup option, in case a deal to sign Maxence Lacroix from VfL Wolfsburg falls through.

The Frenchman was brought to the German side by Glasner in 2019 – the Austrian’s second signing for VfL Wolfsburg.

Florian Plettenburg of Sky Germany has hinted that Crystal Palace have now agreed a deal to sign Lacroix – after already agreeing personal terms with the central defender on August 16th – and it seems like this move could even happen regardless of Guehi staying or leaving for Newcastle.

Be sure to keep an eye on developments at Selhurst Park, as we expect more signings to follow Chadi Riad, Daichi Kamada and Ismaila Sarr before transfer deadline day on Friday 30th August.
