Report: Arsenal planning shock £42m swap deal for 'unbelievable' forward who's missing from training

Arsenal are certainly ramping up their transfer plans with just over one week to go until the August window slams shut on the 30th.
Eddie Nketiah is close to leaving Arsenal – the club have almost agreed a fee with Nottingham Forest for the Hale End talent to finally depart north London.

And that move is expected to have something of a ripple effect, not only will Arsenal try to finalise Mikel Merino’s move, but they may also seek an Nketiah upgrade.

Interestingly, Nketiah’s replacement seems unlikely to be a striker, though.

Mikel Arteta reportedly made it clear earlier in the summer that he wanted to recruit another top class wide-forward.

Jamie Carragher came to the same Arsenal conclusion – saying there was still room for another ‘world-class’ forward in north London.

And according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, it would seem that Arsenal are now considering an audacious bid to sign a Serie A talent who has previously played in the Premier League.

TBR Football recently shared as part of our report that Arsenal were interested in Ademola Lookman, and the Gunners are reportedly now considering a bid.

Arsenal planning to offer Jakub Kiwior in swap deal for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman
One of Arsenal’s issues right now when it comes to adding further talent before the deadline is their already bloated squad.

However, if this report is to be believed, Edu has seemingly hatched a clever plan to offload defender Jakub Kiwior to Atalanta as part of the deal for Lookman.

According to Pedulla’s information, Arsenal are considering a €50m (£42m) plus Kiwior bid to sign Lookman, who’s currently missing from training at the Italian side.

The journalist expects that absence is authorised by the club, and is not fueled by Lookman’s desire to leave amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

But Lookman did ask to miss Atalanta’s opening game of the season recently, seemingly with his heart set on a new challenge.

Fortunately, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini is thought to be a fan of Kiwior, and he needs to add a defender given that Giorgio Scalvini recently suffered a serious knee injury.

It would be a remarkable deal were Arsenal able to pull it off.

That being said, Gabriel Jesus has his own Arsenal plan right now, and isn’t worried about the club signing a new forward.
