Report: Champions League side have changed their mind and now want to sign ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal player

Although Edu and his team have been making good progress, Arsenal still have a number of players they need to sell before the end of August in order to sanction new arrivals.

Recent reports suggested that Arsenal still want to sell four players before the transfer window slams shut in just under three week’s time.

So far this summer, Mikel Arteta has overseen six first-team exits, if you include Arthur Okonkwo’s departure on a free transfer.

Emile Smith Rowe has left for Fulham in a big-money move, scoring again in their latest pre-season friendly.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares have both left on loan too, with Lazio agreeing to buy the latter at the end of his stay.

And otherwise, Arsenal have also allowed Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny to leave on free transfers.

But as stated, there’s still work to be done, and following the arrival of Riccardo Calafiori in north London, it seems as if one left-sided Arsenal defender will now need to leave.

Juventus are back in for Jakub Kiwior after Jean-Clair Todibo joins West Ham
After Calafiori’s arrival many considered that either Oleksandr Zinchenko or Jakub Kiwior would leave as a result.

With the Italian on board, Arteta doesn’t need both, and with Zinchenko switching shirt numbers recently and then starring against Bayern Leverkusen on Wednesday – he looks set to stay.

And perhaps that’s why Calciomercato are reporting that Juventus have rekindled their interest in Kiwior.

Recently, Juve decided that they would pursue Jean-Clair Todibo instead of Kiwior, only for the Frenchman to grow tired of their delays and decide to join West Ham United instead.

As a result, Juventus boss Thiago Motta now wants Kiwior once again, knowing that Arsenal will only sell the Poland international or loan him with an obligation to buy.

Juventus are also considering Ajax’s Josip Sutalo and Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, but seem intent on reuniting Motta with Kiwior, who he worked with at Spezia.

‘Unbelievable’ Kiwior would likely cost Juventus a similar amount to the £20m Arsenal previously paid to sign the defender in 2023.

Perhaps that money could then go into the pot to find Arteta a new striker.
