The Reds have yet to make a signing for new manager Arne Slot and despite a good squad already being in place, Liverpool fans expected some signings at least.
However, all is not lost for Liverpool and with a few weeks in the window left, there’s still a chance of signings.
And according to reports from Italy, a pacey winger is now being revisited by the Reds.
According to a report from TuttoJuve, Liverpool are keen on making another move for winger Takefusa Kubo.
The Japanese star was very much on their radar earlier in the window but no move ever materialised.
Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad looks on during the preseason friendly match between Tokyo Verdy and Real Sociedad at National Stadium on May 29, 20...
Since then, though, talk of a deal for Kubo has gone quiet but with Liverpool missing out on Zubimendi, they could now move again.
There is a belief at Liverpool that a long-term replacement is needed for Mo Salah and the ‘world-class’ Kubo very much ticks the boxes.
Kubo another exciting attacking addition for Liverpool
Quite whether this one does get pushed ahead, remains to be seen.
But if it does, there is no doubt Kubo brings another exciting element to the attack of Liverpool.
The Japanese star has excelled with Real Sociedad and the next logical move for him seems to be either England or one of Europe’s top clubs.
His release-clause is around the £51m mark and in modern football terms, that’s not too excessive.
Liverpool, then, would be wise to get this one over the line.
