Report: What Mohamed Salah actually feels about Arne Slot as Liverpool contract winds down

Mohamed Salah emerged as Liverpool’s matchwinner in Arne Slot’s first Premier League game in charge of the club as the Reds strolled to a 2-0 win against Ipswich Town.

The Egyptian recorded a goal and an assist in a whirlwind five-minute spell in the second half that saw Liverpool take the game away from Kieran McKenna’s side.

Salah also set a Premier League record for most opening-day goals scored, taking his tally up to nine since moving to Anfield in 2017.

While the Egyptian continues to cement his status as an all-time great, speculation surrounding his future has dominated the back pages in recent weeks.

Salah’s contract runs out next summer and he is no closer to putting pen to paper on an extension.

However, if reports are to be believed, the 32-year-old is enjoying working under Slot and the new coaching staff.

Mohamed Salah ‘very happy’ at Liverpool after Arne Slot’s arrival

According to the Daily Mail, Salah is believed to be ‘very happy’ at Liverpool and club sources haven’t activated panic stations despite the Egyptian entering the final few months of his current contract, as he is enthused by Slot’s project and new training methods.

Those close to Salah’s camp believe he is showing no signs of slowing down and could play well into his 30s, a sentiment that is echoed by the Liverpool hierarchy.

The report also states that the 32-year-old is ‘bubbly and engaged’ within the AXA Training Centre and is one of the loudest voices in the dressing room, which are clear signs that Salah is loving life at Anfield currently.

Liverpool should do everything it takes to renew Salah’s contract
The Reds have thus far been reluctant to offer new contracts to players over 30 under Michael Edwards, but an exception must be made for Salah as he’s very much an outlier by every sense of the word.

The Egyptian maestro goes out of his way to take care of his body and is still racking up numbers that put other attackers to shame, so he definitely has a few more years left in him.

Salah has keen admirers in the Saudi Pro League, but he could cement his status as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history if he sticks around and wins another trophy or two under Slot.
