'Sources guarantee': Fabrizio Romano shares what he has heard about Arsenal's interest in Ademola Lookman

Arsenal are now on the brink of securing their second signing of this summer’s transfer window with just one week remaining.
It has been a strange summer of transfers across the Premier League with the top clubs having not made much of a dent in their wallets.

Mikel Arteta has only seen Riccardo Calafiori signed so far this summer but it is not like Manchester City have broke the bank to pull away from the Gunners.

For Arsenal, it seems to be a case of just adding a few quality additions as they attempt to swing the momentum back in their favour as they push for the title.

But it now looks like signing number two is on his way to north London after Arsenal reached a full agreement with Real Sociedad for Mikel Merino on Thursday.

However, the Gunners may well be looking to strike whilst the iron is still hot as they have less than seven full days now to tie up any final deals.

What Atalanta have said about Arsenal’s interest in Ademola Lookman
Arsenal have now been able to strengthen their defence and midfield – medical dependant – this summer and could now look to add to their attack.

It has been claimed that Arsenal hold an interest in Ademola Lookman this summer and could even look to make a player plus cash offer.

However, Fabrizio Romano has now shared what information he has been told by those at Atalanta on the situation.

Speaking on his Playback channel, Romano has claimed Atalanta have not received any offers from any Premier League sides for Lookman.

“Atalanta sources guarantee they have not received any bid from Arsenal or Liverpool, despite the rumours we had in the last 24 hours. The club that spoke to the agents of Ademola Lookman has been PSG.”

But Arsenal have other options to potentially bolster their attack with a deal for Lookman seemingly a difficult one to pull off.

Arsenal could benefit massively from adding a Bukayo Saka backup
A lot of the scrutiny surrounding Arsenal’s plans this summer has been providing Bukayo Saka with some relief on the right wing.

The England international has a huge deal of pressure on his shoulders to provide the Gunners with the returns in front of goal.

And with no real natural backup, there is also a lot of pressure on him to play the large majority of the games.

But a deal for Lookman would be expensive and may not even appeal to the player.

It has been claimed Lookman would not even accept an offer from Arsenal this summer with first team football a potential issue at the Emirates.
