The Reds haven’t made a single signing yet, while Fabio Carvalho is the only player who has left the club on a permanent deal.
Liverpool fans are frustrated with their club’s lack of transfer activity, and they are all desperate to see at least one new signing before the window shuts.
There are a few players who could leave the club too. Sepp van den Berg is one of them.

Mainz manager confirms he wants to sign Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool
Van den Berg returned to Liverpool this summer after a successful loan spell at Mainz in the 2023/24 season.
The Dutchman has been on Liverpool’s books since July 2019. He joined the Reds from FC Zwolle and was viewed as an extraordinary talent at the time.
Since then, the Merseysiders have loaned out Van den Berg on three different occasions, and everyone felt he would be sold this summer.
However, Liverpool have slapped a £20 million price tag on Van den Berg, and that has made it difficult for interested clubs to afford him.
Mainz manager Christian Heidel has had his say on Van den Berg, and he has confirmed that he is still keen to re-sign the ‘incredible‘ defender.
But, the German side can only afford a loan deal this summer.
Heidel said, as quoted by Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg: “We are a bit dependent on Liverpool. I know that he would very much like to return to Mainz. Perhaps the player’s voice will play a role in Liverpool’s decision.
“Of course, it is Liverpool’s legitimate right to put a price tag on the player. But then there has to be a club willing to pay that price, and the player has to want to go there.
“As of today, that’s not the case, which is why we still have a chance.
“If Liverpool loans him out for another year, then we are the perfect club. Sepp would confirm that as well. We are waiting a bit longer and preparing ourselves in case it doesn’t work out.”

Van den Berg has caused Arne Slot a ‘headache’
No Liverpool fan expected Van den Berg to have any chance of staying at the club this summer, but there could be a twist in the tale.
The Dutchman featured regularly under Arne Slot in pre-season, and he was very, very good in Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate’s absence.
Reports have claimed that Slot has been blown away by Van den Berg in training, and the defender is earning a lot of praise from outside too.
Phil Thompson was so impressed with his performances that he claimed that Van den Berg could now give Slot a ‘headache’ ahead of the start of the new season.
If a club can meet Liverpool’s demands for Van den Berg, they would be right to sell him. However, keeping hold of the defender won’t be a bad idea either.
