Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole has named an Arsenal signing as the best business this summer.
The Gunners spent just over £100m in their bid to beat Manchester City to their first Premier league title since 2004.

David Raya was signed on a permanent deal from Brentford for £27m, while Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino joined for £42m and £33m respectively.

And on transfer deadline day, Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling joined Mikel Arteta's side on a season-long loan deal.

And Cole believes the signing of Sterling could prove to be the signing of the summer in the top flight.

'Possibly's Raheem Sterling's loan move to Arsenal', Cole told Betfred when asked which transfer has impressed him

'I really do believe that's good business and like everybody else, I'm astounded that Enzo Maresca came out and said that Raheem wasn't going to get any minutes under him. It was like Enzo was shooting himself in the foot by saying that.

'It's not like his position is solidified because if they go on a bad run, he'll be out the door as well. Arsenal have done good business by getting Raheem in.'

Sterling's move to north london came after he was frozen out of the Chelsea first team by Enzo Maresca, with the winger deemed surplus to requirements.

The 29-year-old previously worked with Arteta when the Spaniard was Pep guardiola's assistant art Manchester City.

'It's an unbelievable feeling. It's really exciting. I'm buzzing,' said Sterling after sealing the move.

'It's one where we kind of left it late but it's one I was hoping for. Looking at everything, I'm just, like, 'This is a perfect fit for me', and I'm super happy we got it over the line.

'I spoke with [sporting director] Edu and I said you can see the real togetherness from Mikel's time here and you see the journey the boys are on.

'You can see the hunger, and I keep saying again, the togetherness is something I'm looking to be a part of.'
