The striker has a release clause worth just over £84million in his Sporting CP contract, meaning they will be powerless to prevent him from leaving if an interested side pays that fee.
However, Gyokeres is settled in Portugal and sources say he will be reluctant to leave mid-season.
Arsenal, Chelsea or even Liverpool – who have also been linked with the Sweden international – would have to pay the full £84million to agree a fee with Sporting in the winter window.
Premier League clubs have admired Gyokeres since he started scoring regularly in Portugal and could launch a move to bring him back to England in the next 12 months.
He has already hit 10 goals and five assists in seven games across all competitions for club and country this term.
£84m star Gyokeres could reject Arsenal move in January
The forward, who joined Sporting from Coventry in 2023, is under contract until June 2028.
Gyokeres hit 43 goals and contributed 15 assists in 50 club games last term.
Arsenal are still searching for a long-term striker solution after failing to land a centre-forward in the summer window.
Kai Havertz is currently leading the line for Mikel Arteta’s side with Gabriel Jesus, who is currently injured, waiting in the wings.
Chelsea are also looking for a marquee striker signing after failing to land Victor Osimhen, who has gone on loan to Galatasaray.
