Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice show true colours as Reiss Nelson transfer confirmed

Reiss Nelson has seen his temporary Arsenal departure acknowledged by several teammates after being loaned to Fulham on transfer deadline day.

Nelson, 24, is reunited with Bernd Leno, Alex Iwobi and Emile Smith Rowe for the remainder of this season as the contingent of former Gunners players at Craven Cottage continues to grow. Leno was the first to join in the summer of 2022, with Fulham paying Arsenal a reported £8million for the goalkeeper.

Iwobi joined the following year from Everton, also a deadline day acquisition, in a £22million deal four years after the Merseyside club paid the Gunners an initial £28million, rising to £34million. Smith Rowe signed this summer for £27m plus a potential £7m in add-ons.

The latter 'liked' the collab post shared by Fulham on Instagram with Nelson and the Premier League confirming the move. Gabriel Magalhaes, Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard also gave it a like.

Fellow academy graduates Chris Willock and Jordi Osei-Tutu also commented on the post. The former shared a red heart while the latter posted: "My brother". Another former Arsenal youth team player, Ian Carlo Poveda-Ocampo, commented with three fire emojis, while Khayon Edwards added two heart eyes emojis under the post.

Fulham have since shared several posts of Nelson posing for photos at Craven Cottage. Leno, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Rice, Cedric Soares, Smith Rowe, Jurrien Timber and Joe Willock liked one post in particular. Inevitably in his first interview, Nelson spoke about the former Arsenal players in west London.

"Alex [Iwobi] started a trend, I feel like, so a lot of the times when Fulham was actually playing, I used to watch because of Alex as well, so it was nice to see familiar faces here as well, Leno, [Smith Rowe]. It's just really good to see these people here."
