Atalanta and Arsenal meet on Thursday in their opening 2024-25 Champions League match at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo.

Toloi has suffered a muscle injury and is unlikely to recover, while ex-Everton defender Godfrey is dealing with lower back pain.
Arsenal seem to have more problems than the Nerazzurri, as several players must be assessed ahead of the mid-week fixture.
Calafiori missed Sunday’s 1-0 to Tottenham due to a calf injury and his return to action remains uncertain, as per Football London.
The same goes for Martin Odegaard, while Bukayo Saka was forced to be subbed off in the second half of the North London derby yesterday. “I don’t know exactly what it is, but he could not continue,” Arteta said.
New signing Mikel Merino is expected to return to action in October. Ex-Bologna defender Takehiro Tamiyasu will probably return after the Atalanta game, even if Arteta said it was “difficult to say [when he will return]. It’s a bit slow the process of the first phase of that injury. It’s probably for the medical team to say more than that. He’s not done any training yet.”
Last, but not least, Kieran Tierney will miss the trip to Bergamo; as Arteta said, the Scotland international still needs a few weeks to recover.
