Brentford player says Arsenal star who Mikel Arteta signed in 2023 is the best player he's ever faced

Arsenal have become one of the best sides in Europe under Mikel Arteta’s stewardship.

Arteta has built a robust and quality-littered 11 that are now firm challengers for the Premier League title nowadays.

Many have tipped Arsenal to finally win the league this term, though, they face stiff competition from reigning champions Manchester City and potentially Arne Slot’s Liverpool.

So naturally, The Gunners have some of the best players in Europe and with that said, Brentford midfielder Josh Dasilva has singled out one of their stars as the toughest he’s ever faced.

Josh Dasilva says Declan Rice is the toughest player he’s ever faced
Speaking on the Rising Ballers YouTube channel, Brentford’s Josh Dasilva, who was formerly of Arsenal, named Declan Rice as the best player he’s ever played against.

“Obviously Declan Rice, probably the best player I played against,” the 25-year-old said.

“Yeah. He’s just strong, fast, left foot, right foot, shoot, can pass, can run, can read the game.”

Since his £105m move from West Ham United during the summer of 2023, Rice has levelled his game up and many would now consider him world class.

The 25-year-old has become a leader for Arteta’s men and on the international stage, he’s established himself as a talismanic figure for England.

Rodri or Declan Rice?
When fans discuss who the best holding midfielder is in the Premier League, it usually boils down to Manchester City’s Rodri or Rice.

There’s a solid argument for both but given the success City have endured with Rodri orchestrating each move, TBR Football believes the Spaniard is just slightly ahead.

Though, Rice is three years younger, so by the time he reaches his prime, he may well reach the same heights.
