Sterling, who was spotted in the stands during the match at the Emirates, has joined the Gunners on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The move came after Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca informed the winger that he would not be playing under his leadership.
The England international found himself sidelined from first-team training and stripped of his No.7 shirt following the arrival of Pedro Neto from Wolves.
After being omitted from the squad for the opening defeat to former club Manchester City, Sterling's representatives publicly called for "clarity" over their client's future.
Raheem Sterling watched Arsenal vs Brighton from the stands
Despite interest from Manchester United, the club did not progress beyond preliminary discussions due to concerns about his wage demands. This paved the way for Arsenal, who managed to secure a loan deal in the final hours of the transfer window.
According to football.london, the Gunners have not paid a fee for Sterling's services and there is no obligation to purchase him at the end of the loan period.
After the draw with Brighton, Saka expressed his mixed feelings after a challenging match, conceding that Rice's red card had subdued the mood in the Arsenal dressing room.
However, he shared his excitement about Sterling joining the team.
Post-match, Saka told BBC Sport: "I'm happy he's here, I've said hello to him. I am really happy to have him here. I am sure he will do amazing for us."

Commenting on Rice's sending off, Saka said: "I thought it was a bit harsh for us. We just want some consistency."
"Joao Pedro booted the ball halfway across the pitch in the first half and got nothing for it and Dec got the slightest touch and was sent off.
"It is what it is, I don't want to put the whole game on the referee as we still had chances to win it. It has been a good start. Today is a disappointment but it is a long season."
Sterling's debut for Arsenal could potentially take place in the north London Derby in two weeks' time. However, Arteta will have to plan without Declan Rice for the upcoming fixture due to his red card against Brighton.
