Chido Obi-Martin has reacted to news out of Arsenal yesterday

Although the summer transfer window has shut, Premier League clubs such as Arsenal are still seeing youth moves take place.

On Wednesday, a player who came through the ranks at Hale End left the Gunners to link up with a Premier League rival.
Owen Asemota, a 16-year-old goalkeeper who has been plying his trade for Arsenal’s Under-18s, has swapped Hale End for Aston Villa.

The official Villans website confirmed that the England youth international has now linked up with their academy after leaving the Gunners.

Asemota took to Instagram to bid farewell to Arsenal, hailing the “invaluable” support he has received at Hale End and thanking his teammates for their “unwavering support”.

A number of his peers, including Chido Obi-Martin, wished him all the best at his new club.

Obi-Martin also responded to Asemota’s follow-up post on his new chapter at Aston Villa, saying “my boy”.

Where is Chido Obi-Martin now?
Obi-Martin made a huge name for himself at Arsenal’s academy last season thanks to his prolific displays in front of goal.

The 16-year-old announced in July that he was leaving the Gunners, and he is reported to have agreed a move to Manchester United.

However, Obi-Martin is yet to complete his move to the Red Devils from the Gunners.

According to Goal.com, citing journalist Christopher Michel, Man United are still waiting for ratification from the FA and the Premier League.

The Red Devils are reportedly struggling to finalise a deal for Obi Martin because of “very complicated” legal issues and it could potentially end up in court.
