Liverpool manager Arne Slot has finally been able to welcome new signing Federico Chiesa to Anfield.

There is plenty of excitement around the Italian attacker, with Jamie Carragher loving Chiesa’s transfer to Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard is excited by Chiesa’s move, with the 26-year-old signing a long-term deal with the Merseyside club.

Chiesa will wear the number 14 shirt under Slot, with the number last occupied by former captain Jordan Henderson.

He has been settling into his new club after arriving from Italy, with the forward having joined from Serie A giants Juventus.

He made 131 appearances during his four seasons in Turin, with Chiesa also boasting 51 caps for Italy, recently playing for his nation at Euro 2024.

Footage has now emerged of the attacker meeting Slot at the club’s training ground, with the boss saying: “Hi, good to see you, in real life.”


Chiesa replied: “Good to see you,” with Slot asking: “You’ve already met the boys?” The Italian responded: “Yes yes, we’ve met,” with the manager noting: “It’s good to have you.”

Delighted, Chiesa said: “Thank you very much, I’m ready to train today. I’m so happy, very excited,” with Slot responding: “Yeah, that’s a good thing.”

Chiesa has been warmly welcomed by Slot, with the attacker certain to be warmly welcomed by the Liverpool fans.

The Merseyside outfit weren’t exactly crying out for another forward player, but at the same time they will hugely appreciate the addition.

Chiesa arrives with plenty of pedigree, having shone brightly for both Juventus and Italy over recent years.

His injury record will be questioned by many, but so far Slot has had no massive injury worries during his brief tenure at Anfield.

Keeping the likes of Chiesa fit is now on the manager’s agenda, along with keeping him happy, with competition for places having just been increased further.
