The Blues are constantly scouring the market, and it is TBR Football’s understanding that Enzo Maresca’s side are among the teams keen on Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior.
Kiwior was strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, and he could be on the move in the winter if he decides he wants to go.
Jakub Kiwior could leave Arsenal
TBR Football understands Arsenal persuaded Jakob Kiwior to stay with the club until January and at that point if he wants to leave they will allow him to go.
The Polish international was open to returning to Serie A this summer, and he generated interest from a host of clubs with AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma and Bologna all making enquires at some point.
Chelsea are understood to be keen on Kiwior.
We also understand that Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Brighton are also admirers of the player.
However, despite signing Italian international Riccardo Calafiori this summer – Arsenal did not want to lose Kiwior, who the club rate very highly.
TBR understands that Mikel Arteta personally talked with Kiwior about his role in the coming months and it is believed he convinced him that he part of his plans going forward.
Jakub Kiwior needs a move
Jakub Kiwior has been solid since arriving at Arsenal 18 months ago, but the reality is there’s not much room for him in the squad anymore.
Riccardo Calafiori, Jurrien Timber and Oleksandr Zinchenko are ahead of him in the pecking order at left-back, while Gabriel Magalhaes, Calafiori and Timber are probably also ahead of him in the left-centre back slot.
Kiwior is a talented player who would thrive in the right surroundings, but, unfortunately, Arsenal isn’t the best place for him at the moment.
