Arsenal are set to open their Champions League campaign with a game against Atalanta in Bergamo later tonight.
Atalanta played their first game at their renovated Gewiss Stadium last weekend and are looking to have a special evening against the Gunners in the first European game in the new-looking arena.
The Gunners have a big game against Manchester City but they are well aware of Atalanta’s giant-killing reputation in European football.
Manchester United had two tough games in the Champions League group stage against the Italians a couple of years back and Atalanta knocked Liverpool out of the Europa League on their way to winning the trophy last season.
Journalist warns Arsenal that Atalanta are unpredictable and hard to decipher
Piccari is looking forward to the two teams colliding tonight as he believes it is going to be a game with a high tempo as both Arsenal and Atalanta like to play on the front foot.
However, he warned Arsenal that they will never know what Atalanta will turn up as they can be both sublime and ridiculous on any given day.
But the Italian journalist did insist that in Lookman they have a player who can turn a game on his head with his ability in the front line.
“I can’t wait to see this match, it will be an open game between two teams that want to play the game openly”, Piccari told Tutto Mercato.
“It will be a match where we will have fun with a high pace.
“It’s hard to decipher Atalanta, they may play incredible games and then unexpectedly fall.
“Then they have a Lookman who is in form and can really make the difference.”
