'I can guarantee': Fabrizio Romano has fresh contract update for Liverpool fans

Liverpool’s perfect start to the season was wiped out at the weekend as Arne Slot’s side suffered their first loss of the season.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have made a very impressive start to the season, but not even they could find a way past Nottingham Forest’s defence.

Liverpool don’t have time to dwell on things as Arne Slot faces a trip to the San Siro tonight to face AC Milan in their opening Champions League game.

However, the current situation involving Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah is a slight worry with their contracts running out in the summer.

And, Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update for Liverpool fans on one of those three players…

Now, Romano has dropped an update on what he knows about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s situation specifically at Anfield.

“I keep receiving questions, guys, not just on Van Dijk, not just on Mo Salah, but also Trent Alexander-Arnold. The three top Liverpool players out of contract in the summer 2025.

“Guys, I can guarantee that for Trent is the same situation as Van Dijk, the same situation as Mo Salah. Priority to Liverpool.

“Conversations to follow between Trent, his agents, and Liverpool to understand what’s going to be next between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool.

“So let’s respect the timing, let’s respect the parties negotiating. It’s up to Liverpool now; it’s also up to the player now to decide what they want to do, and then this conversation will make us aware of what is going to happen with Trent.

“I can guarantee that no decision has been made on Liverpool’s side; on the player’s side, they are still taking their time to discuss, exactly the same as Van Dijk and Mo Salah.”

The fact that Trent had a bit of a tantrum after being taken off early a couple of games back, and the pre-season holiday with Jude Bellingham will worry Liverpool fans.

But, the Englishman is a scouser at heart and lives and breathes for the club, so there is hope.
