JUST NOW:Mikel Arteta has now made a claim about Kevin De Bruyne ahead of Man City v Arsenal

Manchester City have a big game ahead of them in the Premier League.

Having won all of their league matches so far this season, City will be taking on Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to try and extend their winning run.
The Gunners are just two points behind Pep Guardiola’s side as they look to take the title away from the Blues.

Ahead of this game, the Arsenal boss has made a claim concerning one player from City’s squad and his potential availability for Sunday’s showdown.

Mikel Arteta addresses potential Kevin De Bruyne absence in Man City v Arsenal
After seeing Kevin De Bruyne limp off in City’s midweek match against Inter Milan, Mikel Arteta said this in his recent press conference (via Arsenal) when asked if the midfielder’s potential absence in Sunday’s game will be a boost for his side.

He said: “No because they have the option if he doesn’t play of [Ilkay] Gundogan, Bernardo [Silva], Phil Foden, [Mateo] Kovacic. They’re all world-class players.

“We have a few missing as well and we have to adapt, but certainly those kinds of teams don’t rely on one individual which is extremely important for them.”

De Bruyne would be a big miss for City against Arsenal
In his latest press conference on Friday, Guardiola said that De Bruyne told him he felt a little bit better but a decision will still need to be made about whether he could feature against Arsenal or not.

Having started all four of City’s league games this season, the Belgian has the joint-highest number of key passes (16) and shot-creating actions (28) in the division ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

This highlights how much of a miss he would be for the Blues if he were unable to feature against Arsenal on Sunday, even though Arteta doesn’t think it would be too much of an issue for City because of the other players they have at their disposal.
