While no Premier League opponent should be underestimated, the fact that three of the Reds' next five fixtures are against teams who finished in the bottom half of the table last term - the other two are against Crystal Palace and Chelsea - should inspire hope of Slot's side opening up a healthy gap between themselves and Arsenal before the two teams face off at the Emirates on October 27.
Of course, even if Liverpool are able to steal a march on the Gunners, there is still the small matter of current leaders Man City to contend with. But, with the margins in the Premier League so tight, Arsenal's bad fortune has presented the Reds with an undeniable opportunity and the Reds must be ready to take it.
