Arne Slot has inherited a high quality squad at Anfield that required very few additions in the summer transfer window.
The three Premier League results so far are evidence of that, with the same squad as last season looking even better under the Dutchman.
Federico Chiesa‘s experience at the top level and versatility will help things massively as the Reds look to challenge on all fronts with a busy schedule.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all coming towards the end of their contracts at the club, with talks no doubt getting underway soon.
Although, it appears as if the Reds may be looking to open talks with a fourth Anfield star…
David Ornstein says a new deal for £37m Liverpool ace is ‘one to watch’
Liverpool’s front three have been on fire so far this season with seven goals shared between Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.
However, it’s Luis Diaz that David Ornstein was focused on as he claims, when speaking on The Athletic Podcast’s YouTube channel, the Reds may have one eye on offering him a new deal.
“Liverpool had clearly considered the wide position because Anthony Gordon was on the agenda before the PSR deadline. That didn’t materialise but it gave an indication that maybe someone might come in in that position.
“I thought it was going to take a notable departure like Luis Diaz who surprisingly hasn’t been given a new contract or certainly hasn’t signed one since joining from Porto.
“That’s maybe one to watch because in normal situations Liverpool would reward players who have excelled so much and that hasn’t happened yet”.

Can Liverpool afford to lose Luis Diaz?
Judging from the start he’s made to this season you’d say no, but weirder things have happened.
Indeed, at 27 years of age and with three goals to his name already this season it look as if Diaz is coming into his peak, so it would be silly to get rid of him so soon.
At the end of the day it’ll be up to the player, who joined for around £37 million, as Arne Slot doesn’t seem like the type of person to put up with players who don’t want to be at the club.
However, it remains to be seen as to what priority this takes with so many other players also potentially needing negotiations to take place.
