The former Good Morning Britain host feels that the Gunners need more firepower to compete with Manchester City this season. Despite Kai Havertz scoring twice in three games, Morgan doesn't believe the German star is the solution to Arsenal's goal-scoring needs.

Morgan voiced his concerns over what he sees as a missed opportunity for Mikel Arteta during the summer window and shared his hope that the Gunners' failure to secure a top centre forward won't come back to "haunt" the club. Arsenal were linked with Newcastle's Alexander Isak, as well as Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen throughout the summer, but failed to lure a number 9 to the Emirates Stadium.
While speaking on talkSPORT with Ally McCoist and Gabby Agbonlahor, the outspoken broadcaster insisted that the current Arsenal squad is the best they've had "in 20 years". However, he pointed out the Gunners' struggles against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last season, and their away loss to Villa, which dented their title hopes, and questioned whether Arsenal have enough going forward to handle such games again.
Despite not signing a frontman, Arsenal did bring in Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino and Raheem Sterling during the summer. Yet, Morgan's worries seem to persist, reports Football London.
"I think we've signed some very good players," he said. "I do remain disappointed that we haven't gone out and got a proper centre forward or striker. I don't think Kai Havertz is that guy. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us."
Voicing his concerns about Arsenal's ability to compete with City, Morgan added: "Have we got someone who can compete with City led by Haaland? I don't think we do
Piers Morgan isn't convinced by "It worries me in those big games where we get those big chances like last season, home and away against Bayern Munich, the second (league) game against Villa, when it really mattered."
Despite Arsenal's mixed start to the new season, with two wins and a draw from their first three matches, Morgan praised the team's defensive strength. He attributed the Gunners' solid defence to having the best back-line and goalkeeper in the game.

"I think we've got the best defence and goalkeeper in world football," he said. "We've got back-ups for that defence, we've got six or seven guys at the back who I think are going to be utterly impregnable."
Arsenal are set to face Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday, but they'll be without Declan Rice due to suspension and an injured Martin Odegaard.
