Player ‘ready to leave' Arsenal in January – Gunners have ‘given approval’ for potential sale

Takehiro Tomiyasu has made 36 Premier League starts for Arsenal since joining them from Bologna in August 2021.

Mikel Arteta used Tomiyasu across the back line last season, and he clocked in 1,654 minutes from 30 games.

His deal lasts until 2026, with an option for another year. Calciomercato now claim the 25-year-old is ‘ready to leave’ Arsenal in January.

The outlet says the defender has dropped down the pecking order after Riccardo Calafiori arrived at the Emirates in the summer window. It’s worth noting the Japan international has been sidelined with a knee injury since July.

Tomiyasu has had concerns over his fitness since the start of 2022. This has been one of the reasons why his game time at the north London club.
He’s ready to leave Mikel Arteta’s side and the report says the Gunners management have ‘given their approval’ for a possible sale in the winter market.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli are all named as the Japanese’s interested parties. It’s claimed the Old Lady will approach Arsenal in the next few months, to understand the conditions needed to sign him.

The report states the Premier League side value Tomiyasu at around €20m
