‘Quietly’: Rio Ferdinand says Arsenal have a player who’s always silently brilliant

Arsenal scored a historic victory over Tottenham at the weekend with a 1-0 win away from home.

This wasn’t a match for the ages by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s one that will stick in the minds of Arsenal fans as they beat their great rivals without the aid of two of their most important players – Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.
Arsenal headed into this game with a depleted side, but they still managed to run out victorious against Tottenham.

Speaking on his YouTube channel after the game, Rio Ferdinand has been full of praise for many of Arsenal’s defensive players, reserving some special praise in particular for Ben White.

Indeed, Ferdinand praised White for his consistency, claiming that while he doesn’t get tons of plaudits, he always quietly goes about his business and turns up when he’s most needed.

Ben White is quietly brilliant
Ferdinand praised the Arsenal defender.

“Timber looks like a good addition as well, he’s quick, strong, aggressive. They look like they have a good balance in there at the moment.” Ben White, he just does his thing quietly but just consistently, always there when they need him,” Ferdinand said.

Ben White is underrated
Arsenal have so many big-name players who make headlines on a weekly basis, but Ben White often doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

White is basically an ever-present in this Arsenal side, and his transformation in recent years has been incredible.

The former Brighton man arrived at Arsenal as a centre-back option, but he’s found a new home at right-back and he’s taken to that role like a duck to water.

White can do it all, he’s a great defender, he’s solid in the air and he’s fantastic going forwards as well.

The England international may not always be at the forefront of the conversation when Arsenal’s success is discussed, but make no mistake about it, White is one of the most important players in this Arsenal team.
