The 25-year-old has enjoyed a stellar start to the campaign for the Bees in West London, scoring three goals in as many Premier League contests.
Mbeumo is one of the main stars in attack for Brentford following the departure of the club's talisman Ivan Toney to the riches of the Saudi Pro League.
The Cameroon international bagged a brilliant brace last weekend, helping the Bees to a 3-1 success over newly-promoted Southampton in the capital.
Since making the switch from French outfit Troyes in August 2019, Mbeumo has played 203 matches for Brentford, scoring 53 goals across all competitions.
Raiding Brentford? Arsenal 'considered' last-gasp move for Bees attacker
Arsenal 'considered' late deal for Brentford's Mbeumo
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal's deadline-day dealings could have been significantly different following a relatively-quiet window for the club.
The report claims that the Gunners were eyeing up a late move for Brentford star Mbeumo, who has impressed at the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
It is understood that Mikel Arteta's side were also offered the chance to sign Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman, with the Frenchman out of favour at the Allianz Arena.
Despite that specific opportunity, Arsenal opted to pursue a loan deal for Chelsea wantaway Raheem Sterling, who moved across London to the Emirates on a loan deal.
The former England international will have the international break to settle in at his new club before Premier League action returns next week.
Is this Mbeumo's final season at Brentford?
During his five-year stint in West London, Mbeumo is an example of a player who has grown into an established Premier League figure alongside Brentford.
The 25-year-old is arguably the Bees' star attacker following the exit of Toney to Al-Ahli, meaning that Thomas Frank's side are slightly reliant on the forward.
Mbeumo has openly stated in the past that he has the desire to eventually leave the Gtech Community Stadium in order to sign for a bigger club.
Brentford supporters will be praying that they still have a few more seasons of the Cameroonian at the club, despite his potential to be a regular for an elite side.
