Report: Arsenal handed fresh optimism ‘world class’ forward would be willing to join next summer

Arsenal may have ended their summer transfer window in style with two deadline day signings but there could have been more done.
After two years of pushing Manchester City at the top of the table, Mikel Arteta‘s side are looking to make it third time lucky.

But Arsenal were only able to bring in four new signings over the summer and one of them was a backup goalkeeper.

There were major concerns as to whether the Gunners had enough going forward to finally leapfrog Manchester City and those questions may still remain.

With Gabriel Jesus already out through injury, Arsenal’s options are already being stretched which could see them already planning for next summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal given hope of landing ‘world class’ forward
Although Raheem Sterling is said to be buzzing after joining Arsenal, the 29-year-old will not be viewed as a long-term option for the Gunners.

There was a lot of talk about Arteta’s side adding a big name to their front line with Arsenal showing an interest in the likes of Victor Osimhen.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal have now been given some fresh optimism over landing Williams next summer.

The Spaniard made the decision to remain at his boyhood club this summer on the back of a stunning Euro 2024 campaign.

Williams rejected interest from both Arsenal and Barcelona as he chose to remain in the Basque Country for at least another year.

Although Arsenal are aware of potentially being beaten to Williams by Barcelona, the winger has not shut down the possibility of joining Arsenal in the future.

Arsenal needed a star forward signing this summer
In signing Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino, Arsenal landed two really solid additions to their defence and midfield over the summer.

However, in the position where they could really have done with a big arrival – upfront – they failed to address their issues.

Ideally, Arsenal could have done with a big name striker like an Osimhen or even a Viktor Gyokeres who Arsenal showed an interest in.

But even the addition of a ‘world class‘ winger like Williams would have been a huge statement with the Spaniard showing his goal threat throughout this summer’s Euros.
