The striker is settled in Portugal and sources say he will be reluctant to leave mid-season.
Interested clubs would also have to pay his £84million release clause in full in January – a move which is likely to be too costly for Arsenal and Chelsea.
Gyokeres has spoken out in recent days to say his buyout clause is “probably a bit too much”.
He added: “I enjoy myself very much in Sporting and can’t complain about anything, so it’s absolutely no problem for me to stay. Of course, you aim to test other leagues and a higher level, but I have no stress.”
Arsenal and Chelsea plan Gyokeres swoop next summer
Arsenal and Chelsea are still in the market for an A-list new forward and will keep the Sweden international in their sights ahead of the summer of 2025.
Gyokeres has hit 10 goals and five assists in seven games across all competitions for club and country this term.
The forward, who hit 43 goals and contributed 15 assists last term, is under contract until June 2028.
He has previously played in England with Brighton, Swansea and Coventry – scoring 41 goals in 121 league games.
