Revealed: Arsenal make decision on selling star midfielder this week

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta want to keep star midfielder Jorginho at the club this month, sources have told Football Insider.

The 32-year-old is wanted by Turkish giants Galatasaray after they failed to land Man United star Casemiro.

Jorginho is yet to feature for Arsenal in the 2024-25 campaign but is still wanted at the Emirates Stadium.

The league phase of the Champions League starts this month and will present an opportunity for the Italy international to force his way into the lineup.

New signing Mikel Merino is sidelined with a serious shoulder injury and Arsenal are keen to keep Jorginho to avoid seriously weakening their squad depth.

Sources say the Gunners will do everything to rebuff offers for the midfielder as they want to push for honours this season.

But keeping the former Chelsea ace happy will prove a challenge with big competition for places at the Emirates Stadium.

Midfield trio Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Merino are also on the books at Arsenal.

Jorginho has made 52 appearances for the Gunners since joining in January 2023, scoring once.
