Cody Gakpo criticised by the national media for his international display against Germany

Cody Gakpo has been kept out of the starting lineup by Luis Diaz so far this season, despite a very impressive Euro 2024 tournament.

The Dutchman certainly hasn’t helped himself in some ways with his performance last night against Germany, as the national media weren’t too pleased.

Voetbal International rated him a 6, the second-lowest rating of any player in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Voetbal Primeur gave the winger a 6.5 rating, stating this.

“Gakpo was threatening on a couple of occasions and had multiple chances but failed to pull the trigger. He was also a bit selfish, while teammates were in better shape.”
