'The truth': Declan Rice and Emile Smith Rowe seriously impressed by Arsenal young gun v Bolton

A mix of Arsenal’s present and the club’s future eased to a 5-1 League Cup victory over Bolton on Wednesday night at the Emirates.

Declan Rice and captain Jorginho marshalled the troops from the middle of the park, as Mikel Arteta watched his new-look team race into a 2-0 lead inside the first half, with the Englishman opening the scoring.

Before the hour mark, Arsenal had netted their third, the game was over and promising teenager Ethan Nwaneri had his second goal.

All of this was easy work for the Hale-End star, with Raheem Sterling scoring his first goal for the club, before Kai Havertz joined the party from the bench.

This evening was mainly about Arsenal’s academy shining bright and the added reward of them progressing into the next round of the EFL Cup.

You might see a fair few of these faces again next month because the London club have been drawn up against Championship side, Preston North End in the next round.

Nonetheless, after the match, Nwaneri took to Instagram to react to Arsenal’s win and he was lauded and applauded in the comments section.

From Rice to Emile Smith Rowe, they all made sure to show their love to the 17-year-old attacking midfielder.

Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe the examples for Ethan Nwaneri
Arsenal have a rich history of bringing through star players and they shouldn’t look no further than Saka and Smith Rowe.

It needs to be noted that their journey wasn’t easy and they got to their high levels when there were a lot of dark clouds hovering above the Emirates.

All of that has been cleared now and Arsenal are regular Premier League title challengers.

In years and years to come, Arteta is hoping a player like Nwaneri can lead them to glory because he is one of the most promising teenagers in world football.
