Martin Odegaard is the one player Arsenal could do without being injured as the heartbeat of the side in attacking areas, as well as the captain and leader on the field.
The return date of Odegaard is rumoured to be around November, according to Team News and Ticks, so it may be a while before we see him again.
Of course, there are options like Ethan Nwaneri, Kai Havertz potentially dropping deeper, or even Declan Rice moving higher up and Leandro Trossard slotting in.
However, for Mikel Arteta, nothing compares to having his star man in the side.
Interestingly, a former player who has suffered ankle injuries himself has shared how long he feels Martin Odegaard could be out for…

Now, it appears as if Odegaard’s return date is still relatively unknown, despite Arteta providing an update.
When speaking on ESPN UK’s YouTube channel, Craig Burley stated that Martin Odegaard could be out for weeks or months after suffering similar injury himself.
“‘By the sound of this, the sort of 3 weeks, 2 to 3 weeks is out of the window. This now sounds like you know it could be doubled up.
“And my experience of like most players, I think it’s difficult to find a player who’s played for a decade plus that’s not rolled their ankles.
“And it’s tough to come back in 2 or 3 weeks from something like that; sometimes it’s a couple of months, sometimes it’s longer.”
What has Mikel Arteta said about Odegaard’s injury
Mikel Arteta provided a bit of an update on Odegaard’s injury in his press conference prior to the Atalanta game, stating that it’s a significant one.
“But it’s something quite significant so we’re going to lose him for a while.”
When later asked on whether Odegaard’s layoff is a case of months rather than weeks, Arteta responded: “Hopefully not months but we’ll see.”
So, it very much seems as if there’s no set date for Odegaard to return, and it will all depend on how he reacts in his recovery.
But, one thing that is for certain is that it’ll be at least two or three weeks.
