Both Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion were unbeaten heading into the weekend’s Premier League clash, and both came away with their unbeaten streaks still intact.
The Gunners went ahead though Kai Havertz’s strike in the first-half but that was cancelled out by a Joao Pedro finish not too long after half-time, with the game ending 1-1.
However, it was referee Chris Kavanagh who caught the attention with a couple of rather debatable refereeing decision.
He opted to hand Declan Rice a second yellow card for kicking the ball away. He also failed to punish Joel Veltman for lashing out with a kick, which we believe could have bee an error from Kavanagh.
And, after the game, Rio Ferdinand had a bit of fun with the Arsenal fans as he took to his personal Twitter account…
The international break now gives Mikel Arteta the time to collect his thoughts and prepare his side for the return of the Premier League, with ground to make on Liverpool and Manchester City now.
However, he came under fire once again for something he’s been caught out for before.
Taking to his Twitter, Rio Ferdinand reacted to a video of Arteta clearly standing outside of his technical area.

This isn’t the first time that Mikel Arteta has been caught standing outside of his technical area in the Premier League, as Alex Crook labelled Arteta as ‘disrespectful’ for the amount of time he spends outside of his technical area in games.
Did Chris Kavanagh get anything right in Arsenal vs Brighton?
Well, judging by the reaction of social media and pundits up and down the country, it appears as if Kavanagh’s decision to send off Rice has divided opinions.
Although, the inconsistency is where there’s a real issue in the Premier League as Joao Pedro kicked the ball away and received no punishment whatsoever.
Of course, Arteta standing outside of his technical area isn’t the worst things in the world but he is breaking a rule.
In fact, Arteta spent a higher percentage of time outside his technical area last season in the Premier League than any other manager.
