Arsenal get worrying update ahead of Liverpool clash this month

Liverpool have made an outstanding start to the season but many believe Arne Slot’s men will know where they stand only after the international break when they have a difficult run of games.
The Reds are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table with 18 points from seven games and have emerged as real title contenders.

Manchester City and Arsenal started the season as the contenders to win the Premier League but Liverpool have jostled their way into the conversation.

Slot has managed to leave an imprint on the team despite joining the club only in the summer and has had an effect on several of the Liverpool players who were meandering before he arrived.

However, many are trying to temper expectations and insist that Liverpool’s title credentials will get tested after the break when they are set to face Chelsea and Arsenal in back-to-back league games.

There is real anticipation about Liverpool’s trip to the Emirates with many feeling that the game could determine where the Reds stand as a team.

The Norwegian attacking midfielder has been out of action due to an ankle injury he suffered on international duty last month.

Arsenal have been hopeful about the midfielder returning for the big game against the Reds but Norway coach Stale Solbakken is not so sure.

He admitted that Odegaard has made progress in terms of his rehabilitation but stressed that he is still some way away from playing games.

The Norway coach conceded that no one is sure when the midfielder will be back in action at this stage of his rehabilitation.

“There is great progress in relation to pain and injury, but he is a long way from playing matches”, he said in a press conference.
