Arsenal tipped to land Aston Villa man in cut-price deal to solve ongoing dilemma

Aston Villa’s rising star Oliwier Zych is being monitored by Premier League rivals Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion. Following his impressive performances at U21 level, the 20-year-old has received a senior call-up to the Poland senior international team, while turning heads of domestic opponents as well.
Arsenal and Brighton have been ‘scouting Zych’ and weighing up a potential move for the upcoming transfer windows, according to The Telegraph. The goalkeeper has less than a year left on his current contract at Villa Park and there have been enquiries over his situation as he approaches the latter stages of his deal.

Arsenal are on the market for a new long-term No.2 shot-stopper in their ranks, with David Raya their undisputed choice between the sticks. The Gunners signed Neto from Bournemouth in a Deadline Day loan deal to fill the gap left by Aaron Ramsdale, who made the £25 million move to Southampton over the summer.

With Neto only at the club temporarily, Arsenal are looking to bring in a new deputy for Raya, and Zych has entered the picture. If Mikel Arteta’s side do enter negotiations to sign the Polish star, they can push to agree pre-contract discussions in January ahead of the summer.
If Arsenal or another interested club opt to pursue Zych as a free agent, Villa will be set to receive a compensation fee set by a tribunal, which will certainly be something of a cut price amount of money compared to what they would prefer to sell him for.

After appearing in the EFL Trophy for Aston Villa U21s, both Arsenal and Brighton have been linked with Zych. However, another report suggests that the Villans aren’t willing to let him go that easily.

Villa ‘set to offer’ a new deal
According to Football Insider, Villa are ‘set to offer’ Zych a new contract following the interest from rival clubs. The report claims that Unai Emery’s side ‘are aware’ of the fact their young goalkeeper has been turning some heads. They are ‘keen to tie him down’ to new terms as they continue forward with their Premier League mission.

Villa are currently fourth in the league table with 17 points, having won five and drawn two games so far. The Villans are level on points with Arsenal, behind only on goal difference and just four behind current leaders Liverpool
