Arsenal vs Liverpool Team News as 7 outs and 5 doubts with both sides injury-plagued

Mikel Arteta is facing a headache when it comes to team selection this weekend due to a growing number of injuries and suspensions. Those were worsened in midweek action against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Full-back Riccardo Calafiori (doubt) was unable to complete that match as he appeared to pick up a knee injury. The summer signing tried to play on after receiving treatment but had to soon be taken off by Arteta.
Speaking after the game, the manager said: "He had to come off because he felt something. I don't know the extent of it so in that sense not great news."

That leaves the Gunners short at the back for the visit of Liverpool. William Saliba (out) won't be available having been shown a controversial red card against AFC Bournemouth last time out.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (out) and Kieran Tierney (out) are both long term absentees at the back. Jurrien Timber (doubt) has not played since the start of the month with a muscle injury, his last appearance coming against PSG in the Champions League.

Martin Odegaard (out) continues to miss out. The captain is nursing an ankle injury picked up on international duty for Norway in September.

There are also question marks over the fitness of Bukayo Saka (doubt). The winger is still dealing with an issue picked up when playing for England earlier this month and was a doubt for the meeting with Bournemouth, but he didn't end up making that matchday squad or the one midweek.

Liverpool team news
The Gunners' injury woes are at least matched to some extent by Liverpool this weekend. Arne Slot has been without several key first team stars in training this week.

Diogo Jota (doubt) has not been spotted in training this week having been taken off after 29 minutes against Chelsea with a rib injury. Defender Conor Bradley (doubt) is another who continues to miss out on training with a knock picked up on international duty, but is a doubt rather than a firm out for the weekend.

First choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker (out) is still on his road to recovery from a hamstring injury. Federico Chiesa (out) and Harvey Elliott (out) are also both likely to miss out with a knock and a foot injury
