Southampton were beaten 3-1 by local rivals Bournemouth in the Premier League clash at the Vitality Stadium on Monday Night Football.
The Cherries had taken a 3-0 lead in the first half with goals from Evanilson, Dango Ouattara and Antoine Semenyo before Southampton got a goal back through former Manchester City defender Taylor Harwood-Belis in the second half.
Bournemouth had taken the lead in the 17th minute through Evanilson, and Ramsdale was far from happy with the goal.
The home side were awarded a free-kick which was taken quickly as Bournemouth caught Southampton off guard which allowed Evanilson to get ahead of the Saints defence and place the ball past the former Arsenal goalkeeper.
After the goal, Ramsdale could be seen showing visible signs of frustration with his Southampton teammates. The Saints are now 19th in the Premier League table and Ramsdale has conceded 10 goals from his four league fixtures so far this season since his Gunners exit.
Ramsdale left Arsenal last month in a deal worth an initial £18million. The Gunners also included add-ons in the deal with Southampton that could see the total fee reach £25million.
Southampton still have 32 matches to retain their Premier League status for another season. Arsenal will be hoping that the Saints achieve their goal in order to receive extra funds from the deal that saw Ramsdale leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
If Southampton fail to improve their form, however, it appears Arsenal will not be getting the money from that clause in an unwanted transfer message for Mikel Arteta and Edu.
