Bukayo Saka opens up on 'speechless' feeling at Arsenal that's left him lost for words

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has opened up about the one thing that has left him 'speechless' this season.
The young Gunner played a pivotal role in the victory for Mikel Arteta's side against Southampton, who had initially fallen behind when Cameron Archer scored an unexpected opener for the Saints.

However, the visitors lead was short-lived, with Saka assisting Kai Havertz's equaliser just three minutes later. Not long after, Saka set up Gabriel Martinelli for another goal, before scoring one himself towards the end of the match.

Despite earning yet another Man of the Match award, Saka confessed that the one thing that left him lost for words was the feeling he experiences when leading his team out at the Emirates Stadium wearing the captain's armband. The 23-year-old has been filling in as captain for Martin Odegaard while the Norwegian recovers from injury.

In an interview with CBS Sports, Saka said: "That's one of the things where I become speechless when people ask me. Everyone knows my journey, where I came from. To take the captain's armband, walk the lads out at the Emirates Stadium. I can't put it into words."

Saka recognises his importance to Arteta's plans, whether he's wearing the armband or not, and his performance seems to have improved significantly in recent months.

The winger has credited his growing partnership with Havertz for the impressive start to the season, noting Havertz's four goals from his first seven Premier League games. Saka shared his admiration, saying: "I've always thought Kai's an unbelievable player. Everyone in the dressing room did too."

He added: "We're so happy that he's showing that. This season he has come out with even more confidence, I think he's scored in almost every game.

"He's going to score a lot of goals this season. He has a really good understanding around the box, when to attack it, and that's why he gets a lot of chances and that's why hopefully he'll score a lot of goals."

With both players in top form, Arsenal eyes ending their long wait for the Premier League title post-international break, starting with their next match against Bournemouth.
