'Certainly a chance': Charles Watts says Arsenal could be willing to sell £45m player in the summer

Arsenal have made another impressive start to the season which is set to get back underway on the weekend.

Mikel Arteta‘s side have been able to take stock of their opening seven games in the Premier League during the latest international break.

It has not exactly been a favourable break for the Gunners with Arsenal seeing Bukayo Saka pick up an injury issue.

Saka is not the only injury concern at London Colney with Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli also picking up an injury problem whilst away with Brazil.

Fortunately, Arsenal have options at their disposal with the likes of Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling both available to Arteta.

But there is another forward in north London who may now be playing his final season for the club with a decision needing to be made on his future.
Arsenal could sell £45m forward next summer
After a fairly tame summer transfer window, the Gunners could look to offload some players over the coming months.

One of those is left-back Kieran Tierney who could leave Arsenal for his former club Celtic as he remains an outcast for Arteta.

With the Gunners looking to turn the screw in their pursuit of the Premier League title, Edu Gaspar and Arteta are looking to fine tune this Arsenal squad.

And there is one player who Charles Watts believes could fall victim to potential future cuts of the Arsenal squad in the summer window.

“Gabriel Jesus is clearly struggling for confidence right now. You can see that by the way he’s playing. He’s thinking about things too much and taking too many touches when he’s in possession,” Watts told his Daily Briefing.

“When Jesus is at his best he does things off the cuff. He creates chaos with his movement and his work rate. But right now he’s bringing more confusion than chaos with his play.

“I think there’s certainly a chance this could be his final season at the club, but obviously that is a decision that will be taken in the summer should any suitable offers arrive.”

Arsenal need a major upgrade at striker
Ian Wright has called for Arsenal fans to stick with the £45m Jesus despite his struggles, but the Brazilian has failed to impress since landing in north London.

The 27-year-old was only able to provide a return of four goals in the Premier League last season and 11 in the season prior.

For a club who are looking to win the league, this simply is not enough when it’s considered Erling Haaland has already provided Manchester City with 10 goals in the league.

Arsenal are believed to be showing an interest in Benjamin Sesko still and to help fund a move for a new striker offloading Jesus could be key.
