Club confident of extending contract of €50m ‘Mohamed Salah successor’ amidst interest from Liverpool and Manchester United

Liverpool are plotting to back Arne Slot with funds in the January transfer window following an excellent start to the season under the new manager.

The Reds had an underwhelming summer transfer window where they failed to land their top priority, which was to sign an elite defensive midfielder.

Slot’s management has allowed Liverpool to get over the mistake they committed in the summer as the Dutchman has successfully repurposed Ryan Gravenberch in the number 6 role.

The former Bayern Munich man has earned superlative praise from several observers for his performances but the Merseyside giants still intend to sign a defensive midfielder in the winter window.

Liverpool also want to remain alive to the opportunity of adding to their attack and they have been keeping tabs on the exploits of Omar Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Nottingham Forest tried to sign him in the summer. Still, Eintracht resisted and the striker has made a sensational start to the season, scoring eight times and registering four assists in the first six Bundesliga games of the campaign.

Manchester United are also interested in him and could consider making a move for him in January to solve their goalscoring woes.

Eintracht are planning to extend the Liverpool target’s contract
The Bundesliga club are acutely aware of the fact that Marmoush is being watched by some of the bigwigs of the Premier League.

Eintracht have not ruled out selling the forward, who has been termed Mohamed Salah’s successor in Egypt, in the January transfer window for the right offer.

However, according to Bild, they are also plotting to extend the forward’s contract to further increase his value.

Eintracht want to reward Marmoush with a new deal in line with his performances and make him one of the top earners at the club.

The German club believe they have a good chance of convincing the forward to sign on fresh terms.

They believe signing the new deal would increase their chances of holding on to Marmoush for one more season or they could get a big fee for him if a club make a concrete offer for the attacker in the upcoming transfer windows.

Eintracht are likely to demand somewhere between €50m before agreeing to sell a striker who has been in red-hot form this season.
