European clubs readying bids but Liverpool superstar wants to spend ‘twilight years’ at Anfield

Liverpool are preparing for a big Premier League game against Chelsea on Sunday but the discourse around the club is about the future of some of their stalwarts.

After seven games, the Merseyside giants lead in the Premier League table but they are being forced to battle headlines around the future of their top stars.

Arne Slot and his coaching staff will be keen to bring the focus back on the pitch as they prepare for back-to-back league games against Chelsea and Arsenal.

However, the rumours around the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are growing incessantly with each passing day.

While the club look to sort out new deals for each of those players, there is speculation around the future of their number one goalkeeper Alisson Becker as well at this stage of the season.

Georgi Mamardashvili, who is set to join Liverpool next summer from Valencia, has already insisted that he will fight for the number one shirt regardless of what Alisson does.

The Liverpool star wants to spend the rest of his career at Liverpool
The Brazilian is currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury and received approaches from clubs in Saudi Arabia last summer.

However, he chose to stay at Liverpool where he has been the undisputed number-one goalkeeper since he arrived in 2018.

There are suggestions that he could move on next summer but according to Football Insider, the goalkeeper is content with life at Anfield.

Alisson does not want to leave Liverpool and wants to be at the club well into the twilight years of his career.

Clubs in Saudi Arabia and some top European sides are interested in the Brazilian and are working on making bids for him next summer.

With Mamardashvili set to arrive next summer, Liverpool will have a decision to make but Alisson is more than willing to spend the rest of his career on Merseyside.
