Ange Postecoglou’s side blew a two-goal lead against Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend as they capitulated in the second half in their 3-2 defeat at the Amex Stadium.
Tottenham made as many as four summer signings in the summer transfer window, with Dominic Solankeso their most expensive purchase as the striker joined the club from Bournemouth for a fee believed to be in the region of £65m.
The England international hasn’t really set the world alight, but Darren Bent has backed him to come good and also feels he’d feel at home at Arsenal.
Solanke picked up an ankle injury at the start of the season but has made a swift recovery to return to the squad in recent weeks.
Bent believes the England international, who is part of the Three Lions’ set-up for the ongoing international break, has the right attitude to succeed at a club like Arsenal.
“Yeah, I think he would have been a hit at Arsenal. For sure,” said Bent on talkSPORT.
“Because he has got the right temperament, looks like he wants to continue improving, I have never heard any stories about him being a bad egg. Yeah, I think he would have been a hit at Arsenal.”
Solanke’s stats so far for Tottenham
Solanke scored 21 goals in all competitions – with 19 of those coming in the Premier League – for Bournemouth last season and became Tottenham’s record signing in the summer.
For his new club, he has scored three goals and racked up two assists in eight appearances, which is a creditable return for a striker still learning his ways in unfamiliar surroundings.
