Is Bukayo Saka fit to play for Arsenal vs Bournemouth? Injury latest and FPL update

Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend as domestic football returns after the international break. The Gunners travel to take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening (5.30pm kick-off).

Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta does have some injury worries from the international break. One of those is Bukayo Saka, who has been a key player for Arsenal so far this season.

Three Arsenal players guaranteed to miss Bournemouth as Bukayo Saka decision 'confirmed'
The winger started England’s Nations League clash against Greece on Thursday but was taken off early in the second half with a hamstring injury. Following initial tests with the England medical team, Saka travelled back to London Colney for further assessment.

The 23-year-old has started every one of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season and has provided seven assists in his seven appearances. The England man has also scored twice, including in the 3-1 win over Southampton in his last outing for Arsenal.

Should he be ruled out he would therefore be a big miss for the side. Watching closely will also be Fantasy Premier League (FPL) players with Saka in their side.

Here is the latest on Saka’s injury and if he will be fit to play against Bournemouth.

"Bukayo would have been close but it would have been unfair to take a risk with him,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “He’s a positive person and I expect him to be fine."

Will Bukayo Saka be fit to face Bournemouth in GW8?
While we won’t have a definite answer until Mikel Arteta provides an update, it seems that there is a high possibility that Saka will be available for Arsenal for the weekend’s trip to Bournemouth. If passed fit, Arteta could possibly opt to name him on the bench with one eye on the following week’s key Premier League match against current leaders Arsenal.

The official FPL page rates Saka with a 75% chance of playing. That will please 34.6% of players who have selected Saka in their teams, which makes the Arsenal man the third most selected midfielder in the game.
