‘It looks’: When Martin Odegaard is now set to return from injury for Arsenal - journalist

The Norwegian went down with an ankle problem during the last international break, and he hasn’t played for Arsenal since, missing crucial games against Manchester City and PSG during that period.

There was some speculation on social media this week that Odegaard’s injury is actually worse than first feared, and some stated that the midfielder wouldn’t be back in action until December.

When Martin Odegaard could return for Arsenal
Wheatley shared what he’d been told about Odegaard and his return to action.

The journalist says that Odegaard should be back in November, despite suggestions online.

Wheatley also noted that Arsenal are handing this situation. with the utmost care as they don’t want the injury to re-occur.

“Yeah, with Partey it was just an illness so I’m not expecting that to be too bad. With Odegaard there were some reports on social media that he’d be out much longer than expected, December is what some accounts were suggesting.

“That is not what we are expecting. We’re expecting him to be back in and around November.

“Some were expecting, including myself, him to be back a bit sooner, but Arsenal are handling this very carefully, they don’t want any reoccurrence of the injury.

“It looks like Odegaard will be back fairly soon, in the next few weeks. December, as people were saying, is not what is expected.

What Mikel Arteta has said about Odegaard’s injury
Martin Odegaard’s injury has been a real spanner in the works for Arsenal, and the Gunners have been very coy about when the Norwegian could return.

Arteta was asked whether he could provide a rough timeline for Odegaard’s return, and he replied: “I don’t want to do that because I’m not a doctor.

“But it’s something quite significant so we’re going to lose him for a while.”

Odegaard is one of Arsenal’s most important players, and the longer he’s out, the more his absence has been felt.

Luckily, Arsenal have managed to remain unbeaten in Odegaard’s absence, but, it has to be said, the Gunners don’t look anywhere near as strong without their captain in the team.

As Paul Merson says, Odegaard’s injury is a serious problem, but, with a November return date touted, there is some light at the end of the tunnel here.
