Liverpool bemused by Chelsea reaction to summer transfer of youngster

Liverpool have continued to remain committed to bringing the best young talents to the club’s academy under the leadership of new sporting director Richard Hughes.

The Merseyside giants are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table with new manager Arne Slot making an instant impact on the first team.

Liverpool want to back the Dutchman with funds in the upcoming transfer windows as they seek to bring in reinforcements for the first team going forward.

However, the Reds are also keen to make sure that they attract the best young talents to their academy in order to have a strong pipeline for the first team.

Liverpool snapped up Rio Ngumoha from the Chelsea academy in the last window while he was coveted by some of the biggest clubs in England, including Manchester United.

Chelsea were keen to hold on to the youngster but the Reds managed to convince the player to move to the northwest of England in the summer.

The Blues have not reacted to the transfer in the most serene manner and are still furious at Liverpool.

Liverpool have been left baffled by Chelsea banning their scouts from their academy games
According to The Athletic, Chelsea have denied a request from Liverpool to allow their scouts to watch their academy games.

Liverpool scouts have been barred from entering the Chelsea academy to watch games involving their age group sides.

The Reds have responded in kind and now Chelsea scouts are not allowed to attend home games of Liverpool academy fixtures.

They have been left bemused by Chelsea’s action as Ngumoha’s transfer was ratified by the Premier League following a five-step review process, which is carried out whenever a youth player wishes to leave one top academy for another to ensure no rules were broken.

The Merseyside giants are calm about the situation as they can still attend away games to watch Liverpool youngsters and analyse video footage when they want.
