Liverpool learn triple transfer truth as Trent Alexander-Arnold Real Madrid U-Turn claim made

Liverpool return to action on Sunday as they host Chelsea at Anfield (kick-off: 4:30pm). The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League table after a near perfect start under Arne Slot.

A shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest is the only blemish on Slot's Liverpool CV with victory in every other game so far. The Reds beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last time out with confidence running high as the side return after the October international break.

But they will be without key goalkeeper Alisson, who is out with a hamstring injury until late November. Below are some of the latest headlines surrounding Liverpool...

Trent claim
Liverpool are reportedly not paying to much attention to noise surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold's future on Merseyside. It has been claimed that Real Madrid would respect the Reds' chance to agree new terms with Alexander-Arnold but that has changed with Spanish publication Marca ramping up speculation that he will join Real Madrid.

GIVEMESPORT, however now report that Liverpool are confident that as long as there is time left to negotiate, there is still hope that Alexander-Arnold will commit his future to Anfield. It is claimed that the Reds are confident their star full-back will stay on Merseyside.

Transfer warning
Liverpool reporter David Lynch has ruled out suggestions that the Reds are advancing on three prospective transfer deals. Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi, Benfica's Alvaro Fernandez, and Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush have all been linked.

"With the links that come out, there's always a reason behind it in terms of agents just trying to drive interest or whatever," he said via Sportsmole. "That doesn't mean that they're all nonsense, by the way, I just mean in terms of, if it serves them to put the link out there, then that will tend to happen.

"It's a long way, obviously, from them firming up and becoming anything, but profile-wise, they all have a certain sense to them. But again, there's always a reason why names leak out early, and it's not always because Liverpool are very close to getting them - it's sometimes because it serves the player and his representatives to get it out there. So I wouldn't say any of those would be advanced, but they do certainly sort of make sense profile-wise."
